Turkmenistan joined CAREC in 2010 and fully embraces its vision of creating an integrated, globally connected region. The country\u2019s participation advances the program\u2019s goal of building international connectivity through the six international transport and trade corridors that link the region to global markets.<\/p>\n
The chairmanship of the CAREC Program rotates annually among its 11 member countries. In 2018, Turkmenistan took the helm. Under Turkmenistan\u2019s leadership, the CAREC Integrated Trade Agenda (CITA) and its Rolling Action Plan 2018\u20132030 were endorsed at the 17th Ministerial Conference. CITA 2030 aims to deepen CAREC countries\u2019 integration into the global economy by (i) expanding trade through increased market access, (ii) promoting greater diversification, and (iii) strengthening institutional frameworks for trade.<\/p>\n
As of December 202<\/span>5<\/span>, more than $2.29 billion<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>has been invested\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>seven<\/span>\u00a0CAREC-related projects,\u00a0<\/span>mainly in<\/span>\u00a0energy and transport.\u00a0<\/span>Three\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0these projects were<\/span>\u00a0financed by ADB.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n View all CAREC Projects in Turkmenistan<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n
