Under the Economic and Financial Stability Cluster, the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program envisions supporting macroeconomic and financial stability for stronger economic resilience and improved investment climate in the region. Since 2017, the CAREC Program has held two capital markets forums, several high-level policy dialogues, and capacity-building workshops on topics such as debt sustainability, fiscal management, green bond issuance, carbon markets, and FDI for critical minerals, engaging senior government officials from central banks, regulatory agencies, and finance ministries. To provide analytical underpinnings for the development of regional capital markets, the CAREC secretariat produced a comprehensive capital markets landscape study, a guide to a capital markets development roadmap, and a policy brief on green finance development.
